The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) State Forest and Park Service today announced additional dates to this year^s muzzleloading deer hunts at Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area (NRMA). As in the past, all hunts will be by permit only. A muzzleloading deer hunt will be held December 4-9. Lottery applications for these dates must be received at Wye Island by the close of business (4:30 p.m.) on October 27. Permits will be selected by random drawing on October 30 at 2 p.m. A $5 non-refundable service charge along with a copy of the applicant^s 2000-01 Maryland hunting license and a self-addressed stamped envelope must accompany the muzzleloader hunt application. One application per hunter with a maximum of three applications per group hunt.To receive an application you must SEND A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE to Wye Island N.R.M.A., 632 Wye Island Road, Queenstown, MD 21658 or you can pick-up an application in person at the DNR Regional Service Centers in Centreville or Salisbury, or at the State Forest and Park Service headquarters in the Tawes State Office Building E-3 in Annapolis. Applications can also be down loaded via the internet at www.dnr.state.md.us/wildlife/deerhunting.html. All deer harvested at Wye Island during this hunt will be considered part of the daily and season bag limits. All pertinent laws and regulations apply.
