The Lifetime Sportsman License is available to any individual who has lived in Tennessee for the last 12 months. The Lifetime Sportsman License allows the person named on the license to hunt and fish without the necessity of state supplemental licenses or permits throughout the reminder of the license holder^s lifetime. The cost of this special license will be determined by the age of the applicant as follows: If applicant is . . . . . . less than 1 year old . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $200 . . . less than 3 years old. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $200 (if purchased by Feb. 29, 2000) . . . between 1 and 12 years old . . . . . . . . . . . . $600 (see above for person less than 3 years old) . . . between 13 and 50 years old. . . . . . . . . . . $1,200 . . . age 51 and over. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $700 Anyone applying for the Lifetime Sportsman License must show proof of age and residency (Valid Tennessee Driver^s License for example). Applicants under the age of 16 must submit a copy of their birth certificate and a copy of their parent or guardian^s driver^s license. Applicants under one year of age must have been born in Tennessee. This license is good for the life of the holder even if the license holder moves out of state. In addition to the Lifetime Sportsman License card applicants will receive a certificate suitable for framing, which makes this special license a natural gift for children or grandchildren. The actual license will be mailed to the youngster when they reach the age the license will be needed to hunt or fish. Revenue from the sale of the Lifetime Sportsman License will be set aside in a permanent trust fund from which only the interest will be used to finance programs designed to manage wildlife and preserve the heritage of hunting and fishing in Tennessee. The fee for a Lifetime Sportsman License must be paid in full in either cash, check, or credit card and once the license has been issued, no fee will be refunded.
