HARRISBURG, Pa. -- For the first time, The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show (February 7-15 at the State Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg, PA.) will feature two seminar stages. One, dedicated to fishing, will be in the Fishing Hall. The other, dedicated to hunting, will be located just off the Main Hall. The seminar stages are sponsored by Pennsylvania Outdoor Times magazine  

"Now, attendees can improve their hunting and fishing skills and learn about the latest equipment and techniques by attending a wide range of FREE seminars presented on two stages," says Sandy Pochapin, Marketing Director for the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show.

Dr. Gary L. Alt-- "Deer Research & Management" Feb. 10, 11AM, 2PM
In 1999, Dr. Gary Alt, accepted an appointment to head up the PA Game Commission¹s new Deer Management Section in the Bureau of Wildlife Management. Alt says deer management is one of the most important jobs assigned to the PA Game Commission-- "affecting every Pennsylvanian and impacting nearly every wildlife species." Alt has presented more than 1,000 lectures on bear, deer, and other wildlife management topics.


Dick Berry-- "Deer Food Plots" Feb. 12, 2PM, 4PM
"Food Plots & Management" Feb. 14, 2PM, 4PM
Planning and making food plots in Pennsylvania and New York for the past decade has made Dick Berry an expert on planning and establishing a successful food plot. Berry¹s seminar will address when, where and how to establish food plots for wildlife management and what to plant.

Dr. Greg Caldwell--"Spring/Fall Turkey Hunting" Feb. 11, 2PM, 4PM; Feb. 13, 2PM , 4PM
In his forty years of hunting, Dr. Caldwell has taken more than 200 turkeys with shotgun, blackpowder, pistol, bow, and rifle. He is now part of the Pro Staff for River Valley Game calls and has placed in several turkey-calling contests.Caldwell sits on the Board of Directors of the PA Chapter NWTF.

Holly Chow-- "Bear Hunting"  Feb. 8, 3PM; Feb. 11, 11AM
"Whitetail Hunting" Feb. 7, 2PM
Holly Chow¹s love of the outdoors began at an early age. By age 30, Chow was fishing professionally in Canada and by 1995 was captaining her own boat on the pro circuit. She produced her own show called "Holly¹s Woods and Streams." She spent the next five years traveling around the United States hunting, fishing, producing her shows, and giving seminars.

Shirley Grenoble-- "Talking Tough Turkey" and "Becoming An Outdoors Woman"

With more than 50 years of fishing and hunting experience in more than a dozen states, Shirley has earned the respect of her fellow hunters. As a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, she was the 1st woman president of any state chapter.


Maria Heil-- "Women & Guns 101" Feb. 9, 11AM; Feb. 13, Noon; Feb. 14, 1PM
Maria Heil is Vice president and National Spokesperson for Second Amendment Sisters, Inc., a pro-gun women¹s organization.  She will speak on why women are becoming gun owners and practical how-to tips including: how women can become hunters; shopping for a firearm; safe storage; how to carry a gun; politics and guns; and joining your local gun club.

Matt Morrett-- "Spring Turkey Hunting" Feb. 10, 1PM; Feb. 12, 1PM; Feb. 14, 11AM; Feb. 15, 1PM
Matt Morrett, a member of Hunter¹s Specialties Pro Staff, travels around the country conducting seminars on turkey and deer hunting. Morrett has won five World Champion Friction Turkey Calling titles, five U.S. Open Turkey Calling Championships, and the coveted Grand National Champion title. Morrett is instrumental in designing and field testing many of Hunter¹s Specialties products.

Paul Pollick--     "Making Sense of Deer Scents/Lures" Feb. 8, 2PM, 4PM
As the owner of his own business: Pollick¹s Whitetail Scents and Lures, Paul speaks with confidence as a leading authority on the proper use of deer lures and scents.

Gerald Stewart-- "Predator Calling" Feb. 7, 3PM
Gerald Stewart, of Waco Texas, is widely recognized as an expert in the field of predator calling. Stewart promotes the art of wildlife calling by conducting seminars nationwide. He is a writer and photographer and continues to record high quality animal sounds, providing the industry with effective products. Stewart is sponsored by Hunter¹s Specialities.

Keith Eshbaugh is a professional walleye angler and guide who has won more than $75,000 in tournament prize money. He is a two-time winner of the Pittsburgh 3 Rivers Walleye Classic, two-time Cabella¹s Championship qualifier and has six top-20 finishes on the professional circuit. In addition, Eshbaugh is the only full-time walleye pro in Pennsylvania. His seminars are designed to promote fishing, educate anglers on how to catch more and bigger fish and to  keep kids interested in fishing.
