The Camp Blanding spring turkey hunts scheduled for March 18-22 and April 15-19 have been cancelled due to military training. The first hunt has been rescheduled for March 25-29.

“Camp Blanding continues to be on a heightened state of alert, resulting in more training than normal. Therefore, we must reschedule the turkey hunt to a later date,” said Lt. Col. Julie Jones, regional director for the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

“All applications for either Camp Blanding hunt were entered into the random selection process for their alternate choices.  After competing in the regular drawing for their alternate choices, all Camp Blanding applicants were included in a second drawing for a chance at the March 25-29 hunt,” she said.

The other hunt, previously scheduled for April 15-19, if possible, will be rescheduled, and the FWC will conduct another random selection for quota permits from applicants who applied for either of the two Camp Blanding hunts and were not selected for the first Camp Blanding hunt.
