The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will conduct a youth waterfowl hunt at the Hog Island Wildlife Management Area in Surry County on October 20, 2001. After the hunt, in cooperation with Ducks Unlimited, Greenwing volunteers and Department staff will provide a lunch meal and short program that highlights waterfowl hunting and conservation. Youth hunters 15 years of age and younger are encouraged to attend. One adult must accompany each youth hunter with a current Virginia hunting license and duck stamp. The chaperones are not allowed to carry guns. Hunters will be provided decoys as well as transportation from the area headquarters to a shooting location. Gate will open at 5:00 am. Check-in must be before 5:30 am and hunting will cease by 9:00 am. Hunters should register by calling the Williamsburg Regional Office (757) 253-7072 by October 17, 2001.
