Women from all over the United States, Canada and Japan will be attending demonstrations, clinics and discussions with such notable fishing personalities as Joan Wulff, Helen Shaw Kessler, Maggie Merriman, Joan Whitlock, Nick and Mari Lyons, Mark Metcalf, Lori-ann Murphy and Rhea Topping. Eric Nuse of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department will present an overview of Vermont programs on Becoming an Outdoor Woman, Outdoor Family Weekend, and Green Mountain Conservation Camps at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23. TROUT UNLIMITED, the U.S. Forest Service and the Orvis Company also are participating. Registration is on a space available basis. You may register and attend but it is possible that you may not receive the Registration Portfolio. Festival registration fees are $75 members and $95 nonmembers. Registration covers the sessions, demonstrations and clinics. Meals and hotel accommodations are not included. To register, come to the Stratton Mountain Inn, Middle Ridge Road, Stratton Mountain, VT on Thursday at 4:00 p.m., or Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. It may be possible to sign up for a hotel package of room, meals and parties. Check with the Stratton Mountain Inn at 802-297-2500 for availability. Ask for the International Women Fly Fishers package. If you have your own accommodations you may wish to sign up for the meals and parties package which will be on space available basis when you register. Sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning with a casting clinic (sign up Thursday) with Joan Wulff assisted by Rhea Topping and crew. Bring your own rod! Then continue with other clinics, demonstrations, and discussions on fishing, history, equipment selection, tying clinics, Stripers, Bass, Atlantic Salmon, marketing, publishing, writing, arts, and many, many more. The festival closes Sunday morning with a presentation by Joan Wulff and a TROUT UNLIMITED presentation on 40 years of their conservation efforts. Men and women are welcome to join.
