The Arizona Game and Fish Department is hosting two meetings to discuss a proposal to create a blue ribbon fishing area within Oak Creek Canyon.
The first meeting is 7 p.m., Aug. 2, in the multi-purpose room of the Sedona Fire Station No. 1 at 2860 Southwest Dr., Sedona. The second meeting is 7 p.m., Aug. 3, in the Game and Fish Flagstaff regional office at 2400 S. Lake Mary Road, Flagstaff.
The department, in cooperation with the Coconino National Forest, has developed alternatives for improved fishing for anglers which would provide an opportunity to catch quality wild trout spawned within Oak Creek.
