For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: >> I do recognize the importance of tradition to people, and hunting is very traditional, which I respect--but you asked me about ethics.<< I imagine that there were similar concerns when men returning from WWI decided that they'd like to hunt with a bolt-action rifle rather than a trap-door, falling block or lever-action. I'm sure there were also concerns as more hunters started using scope sights, rather than the traditional iron sights. |
